Job Description
The Landing Gear Technician performs inspection, troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, overhaul, and testing of aircraft landing gear components across a variety of aircraft models. The role supports maintenance operations in a fast-paced shop environment while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company safety standards.

- Education & Job Requirements
- Previous mechanical experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a Part 145 Repair Station
- Self-motivated and able to maintain a rapid pace
- Attend work every day as scheduled, to include overtime and weekend assignments
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties
- Maintain customer-oriented work habits
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines
- Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation
- Work with others in a professional manner
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required
- Associate’s degree in a related field, aviation or maintenance mechanic, or equivalent preferred
- Landing Gear Overhaul/Repair experience preferred but not required
- A&P Mechanic license is helpful but not required
- Job Duties & Functions
- Perform overhauls and/or repairs on a wide variety of different landing gear systems
- Troubleshoot and assist in repairing/inspecting different landing gear components
- Utilize and consistently learn new procedures on approved overhaul/repairs
- Work as a team player and assist co-workers as needed
- Perform maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling when required
- Complete additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
- Inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, overhaul, and test aircraft landing gear components
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed as required by the FAA and manufacturer
- Use personal protective equipment according to manufacturers’ specifications in a safe and clean work environment
- Support shop operations under the direction of the Landing Gear Program Manager
- May supervise other technicians in assigned capacities
- Physical Requirements & Environment
- Lift at least 50 lbs
- Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands
- Majority of work accomplished in a heated shop
- Work outside may occur
- Varied positions in and around the aircraft
- Personal hand tools supplied by the technician
- Use pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment
