Production Operator / Manufacturing Technician

Nesco Resource is currently seeking a Production Operator / Manufacturing Technician for a growing manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing experience who enjoy hands-on work, operating equipment, maintaining quality standards, and working in a safety-focused production environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating production equipment, monitoring product quality, maintaining production records, handling materials, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring all safety and quality procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety, health, environmental, and security policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with workplace safety standards and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Promote a safe and secure work environment while following all facility rules and operational procedures.
• Participate in safety initiatives, near miss investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

• Set up, operate, adjust, monitor, and clean manufacturing equipment according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring products meet established quality standards.
• Monitor production processes and make adjustments within approved operating limits to maintain product quality.
• Perform equipment changeovers, machine setup, cleaning, and minor preventative maintenance as needed.
• Maintain production schedules while consistently meeting production targets and operational expectations.

• Perform in-process quality inspections throughout production.
• Collect product samples and prepare materials for quality testing and offline inspections.
• Monitor product quality and identify defects or process issues before they impact production.
• Maintain accurate and complete production documentation to ensure product traceability and quality compliance.

• Move raw materials, intermediate materials, and finished products throughout the production facility.
• Operate material handling equipment including: Pallet Jacks, Forklifts, Overhead Cranes.
• Maintain proper inventory of production supplies, components, and materials needed for daily operations.
• Record raw material usage and finished product production data within company computer systems.

• Identify equipment issues, production problems, or process abnormalities during operation.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and communicate concerns to production leads or supervisors.
• Use sound judgment when making decisions related to equipment functionality, product quality, and production efficiency.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency.

• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support quality, safety, and operational improvement teams as needed.
• Maintain required company training certifications and ongoing operational training requirements.
• Perform additional duties and production support tasks as assigned.

• May assist with handling, transporting, documenting, and properly managing hazardous materials and waste according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Respond appropriately to workplace incidents involving hazardous materials while following established safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience preferred
• Experience in textile, composites, industrial manufacturing, or technical military environments is a plus

• Knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures and production workflows
• Ability to perform machine setup, changeovers, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance
• Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and problem-solving
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or process issues
• Ability to maintain accurate production and inventory records
• Comfortable operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes
• Basic computer skills including data entry and production system usage
• Ability to follow written instructions, SOPs, and production procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials throughout the shift
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement
• Ability to perform manual material handling and heavy lifting
• Manual dexterity required for equipment operation and product handling
• Ability to monitor gauges, meters, machine controls, and production equipment accurately
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards
