Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, ensuring timely and effective treatment. Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and flow through the ER. Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and professional judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions promptly and accurately upon arrival and throughout the treatment process.
• Implement and adjust nursing care plans based on patient assessments and physician directives.
• Communicate effectively with ED physicians regarding patient status, diagnostic results, and response to treatment.
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, providing appropriate interventions and escalating as needed.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly and accurately.
• Ensure patient and family communication addresses psychosocial, physical, and informational needs.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
• Obtain and maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Demonstrate minimum of 1-2 years of ER nursing experience preferred.
• Possess strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
