Under supervision of program staff, review and respond to a variety of written material, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA), letters, data reports and other materials. Analyze the business needs of the NYPORTS electronic adverse event reporting system to adhere to statutory requirements, to identify problems with the online reporting system, to work with ITS and/or other identified vendors to test critical fixes and to develop enhancements to and/or replacements of the system. Minimum Qualifications : Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service as a Health Care Surveyor 2 (Nursing), SG20, and eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the NYS Civil Service Law OR current NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive, service in a title SG18 or higher and able to meet the non-competitive minimum qualifications listed below.Non-Competitive Candidates via NY HELPS: Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two* years of post-licensure, specialized professional administrative or professional clinical experience.*Substitution: A bachelor's degree in nursing can substitute for one year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing can substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have knowledge and experience with health care adverse event reporting systems; familiarity with the review of Root Cause Analysis reports and quality assurance and improvement practices; skill for independently managing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; ability to collaborate with partners on review and data report findings; ability to work independently and as part of a team; proficiency with computer databases and software programs; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional Comments : Posted salary range includes the statutory hiring rate at Step 4 and job rate for PS&T SG20 ($84,173 - $94,121) plus an additional Geographic Day Differential of $20,000.When reviewing qualifications, omissions and vagueness cannot be interpreted in the candidate’s favor.
