Requirements

• Required certification: ICU
• 1+ years of experience
• Key Requirements Summary: 1. Experience: 2 years required; 18 months exp. required (see job description for unit exceptions) 2. Cases: Heavy Medical ICU with some surgical patients, mainly GI or carotids; 24/7 Cath Lab admissions 3. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required; NIH/NIHSS preferred 4. License: Must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications submitted 5. Education: University must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation 6. EMR: Cerner required 7. Shifts/Call: Weekend coverage required (varies/flexible); no on-call required; 1:2 ratios; will float to AAU and MS (1:4 ratio) 8. RTO: Auto-approve 5 days non-holiday RTO or less; must work 2 out of 3 major holidays 9. Returning Staff: IU PERM/PRN employees must be away 12 months before applying as traveler; consecutive contract policy requires break after 12 months 10. Travel/Local: IN residents considered local; ICU positions do not accept locals; out-of-state residents require 3-month break, in-state require 6-month break 11. Background: Policy noted prior to submission to seek approval prior to offer 12. Modules: Not specified 13. Travel Experience: Not specified as required 14. Scrubs: Red top, black bottoms 15. Flu Vaccine Requirements: Required (medical/religious exemptions only) 16. Special Equipment: Arterial lines, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, central/PICC lines, cardiac/vasoactive drips Critical: 8-week assignment; floating 100% required; 2 supervisor references required; SSN and DOB required at submittal.
