Posting Summary The Department of Chemistry, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, Rutgers University-Newark (RU‑N) is seeking instructors for Summer2026 to teach chemistry surveys, recitations, laboratories, or upper‑level courses focused on specific themes or topics. The successful candidate will fulfill all teaching duties, including instructional responsibilities and student support. Responsibilities Prepare course material and instructional resources. Create and post a comprehensive course syllabus. Present material during assigned class times. Hold office hours and provide out‑of‑class support for students. Respond to student e‑mails and inquiries. Conduct and grade assessments, including assignments and examinations. Submit final grades in a timely manner. Position Status Part‑time, with instruction that may be day, evening, weekend, off‑campus, online, hybrid, or remote as required by the department. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree, Ph.D., or other terminal degree strongly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with diverse instructional modalities (online, hybrid). Salary A minimum of $2,777 per credit.
