Customs Compliance SpecialistThe Customs Compliance Specialist will provide guidance and ensure adherence to U.S. and international trade regulations, focusing on HTS classifications, FTZ operations, and regulatory filings while supporting broader trade compliance initiatives.This is a hybrid position with 2 days a week in office based in Lafayette, IN. Relocation assistance is available.Expectations:Monitor FTZ activity and compile part consumption data for weekly FTZ entrySupport trade compliance efficiency by identifying and implementing process & tech improvementsDevelop trade compliance procedures, processes, work instructions, templates, etc.Conduct internal audits, assess risks, and implement corrective actionsPrepare and maintain import/export documentation following record keeping requirementsProvide shipment clearance instructions and regulatory guidance on CBP and PGA requirementsAssign accurate HTS classification and maintain data in ERP systemsFoster open communication with internal & external stakeholders to ensure complianceAnalyze trade data using Excel, Power BI, or similar data toolsEssentials:Licensed Customs Broker and/or CCS, ITCC, CUSECO, or similar certificationsBachelor's degree in finance, International Business, or a related field5 years' experience in trade compliance, preferably with a manufacturerExpert knowledge of import/export regulations; HTS/ECCN, COO, Valuation, FTA, AD/CVD, ISA, etc.Experience with FTZ operations and bonded transportation and storageExperience with trade automation software, Descartes, E2Open, SAP GTS, ACEStrong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to manage multiple projects
