Supervisor of Clinical Therapy - Crisis Assessment Center - Nights

Job Description Schedule: Mon, Tues, Wed 7p‑7a (average 36 hours per week) At Children’s, the region’s only full‑service pediatric healthcare center, our people make us the very best for kids. Essential Functions Clinical Operations – leads and supervises daily clinical activities, ensuring quality care and compliance Managing patient flow in coordination with supervisors and team members Overseeing admissions, discharges, transfers and responding to unforeseen events Problem solving to maximize resources and maintain open communication among team members and departments Ensuring timely completion of clinical documentation Providing support and mentorship to floating staff, involving introductions and buddy assignments Collaborating with the manager and unit leaders to meet staffing challenges and manage resources effectively Ensuring staff have the necessary supplies, equipment, and information to deliver quality care in a safe environment Delivering effective training on clinical skills and industry changes Serving as a clinical expert and contributing to future clinical needs and resource planning People Leadership – supervises clinical and paraprofessional staff, including recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation, and staff development Supports retention using the Children’s philosophy, evaluates candidates, and provides feedback to the manager Conducts regular performance coaching and ensures competency requirements met Provides substantive feedback to leaders for staff development and formal performance improvement when needed Recognizes and rewards staff through public and private recognition and on‑the‑moment coaching Models clinical practices, escalates issues beyond own authority to department managers Works collaboratively with leadership to ensure a patient/family‑focused environment and regulatory compliance Communication – maintains an environment of trust, fairness, and confidentiality with team members and customers Listens actively and seeks clarification through rounding processes, using findings to develop solutions Represents the needs of direct reports to all levels of leadership, communicating effectively orally and in writing Takes initiative to communicate proactively and follow up on issues Quality, Compliance, and Safety – holds staff accountable to established standards, interprets policies, and promotes a safe, therapeutic environment Adjusts clinical assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies Responds promptly to concerns, resolves issues, and provides feedback to the care team Coaches staff on daily activities, pursues continuous learning, and applies clinical knowledge Collaborates with the health‑care team to monitor and achieve quality outcomes and optimize patient flow Implements area‑specific policies and guidelines, conducts audits, and participates in quality‑improvement projects Supports protocol development based on evidence and ensures staff training and compliance Collects data on new product trials and educates staff during implementation Building Relationships and Service – fosters effective working relationships and manages customer service issues Addresses conflicts, applies service‑recovery strategies, and holds others accountable for service improvement Utilizes problem‑solving models to resolve patient problems and implements solutions Monitors service behaviors, coaches staff, and responds to day‑to‑day customer service issues Investigates variance reports and customer‑service issues as directed, communicating policy issues to leadership Supports the unit’s Area Action Council through regular attendance and collaborates with other Clinical Supervisors Education Qualifications Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, or a related field Experience Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral‑health settings (required) Experience with children and adolescents in a behavioral‑health setting (preferred) Skills and Abilities Ability to perform a variety of duties, transition between tasks, and maintain composure under stressful conditions while prioritizing tasks Knowledge of psychological principles, child and adolescent development, inter‑relational dynamics, and behavior‑modification techniques Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other clinical professionals Demonstrated capability in providing age‑appropriate care to children, adolescents, adults, and families Licenses and Certifications Current and valid Independent Mental Health Practitioner Nebraska license or eligible Nebraska license (required upon hire) Current and valid licensure as a psychologist in Nebraska or eligible Nebraska license (required upon hire) Non‑Violent Intervention training (required upon hire) BLS – Basic Life Support (required upon hire) EEO Statement Children’s is committed to diversity and inclusion.
