Join Serco in support of our Defense Service sector and Systems Integration and Installation Business Unit as a Quality Assurance & Safety Specialist for Ship/Submarine/Shore C5ISR production, installation, integration and testing in the SI2 Business Unit. In this role, you will: Be responsible for quality control and quality and safety surveillance of all activities involving safety and quality assurance to ensure compliance with Serco’s Quality Management System and applicable regulatory requirements as directed. Develop, update and audit quality assurance QA workbooks and associated objective quality evidence. Perform documented surveillances on workmanship quality, safety, and compliance to personal and equipment safety requirements. Conduct Quality Process internal audits, review/analyze data and documentation, and complete audit reports and other quality control record keeping and training duties as directed. Be responsible for NDT Level II inspections and documentation. Be willing and able to conduct safety inspections and walkthroughs in Industrial environments (e.g. ships/submarines in shipyards). Be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Lead and direct the work of others. Be able to initiate Incident reports, corrective actions and implement solutions. Be able to document experience and accept increasing levels of responsibility. Track milestones for government tasks and planning. Provide daily/weekly status reports. Contribute to drafting Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures, perform root cause analysis, conduct technical research, and respond to internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CARs). Play a critical role in ensuring the successful monitoring of safety compliance issues and report discrepancies by investigating incidents, aiding with development and completion of corrective actions, and preparing applicable reports. Demonstrate experience with monitoring safety compliance issues and reporting discrepancies found through on-site/on-ship safety walkthroughs. Utilize your OSHA and other applicable courses and be familiar with standard NAVSEA, OSHA, ANSI and EPA standard concepts, practices, and procedures to promote Serco-NA Safety ZERO HARM program. Exhibit a strong understanding of safety best practices with your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work effectively, independently as well as part of a large diverse team. To be successful in this role, you will have: U.S. citizenship and pass a pre-employment drug screening. An Active DoD Secret clearance. Ability to gain and maintain access to U.S. Government facilities and private Shipyards (DBIDS). A NDT Certification (Level II). IDS/CAC for access to Government facilities, U.S. Government. A High School diploma/GED with 6 years of experience in the field, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the maritime industry. 4 years of structural/NDT experience. Knowledge and experience with NAVSEA Standard Items and QA and Safety requirements as delineated in TS 9090-310. Experience supporting U.S. Navy Systems Commands. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) required. Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to build rapport with internal and external customers. A strong desire to excel in the Quality Assurance and Safety field with the ability to rapidly adapt to dynamic scenarios. Experience in documented Shipyard and Shipboard Installation, Quality Assurance and Safety. Ability to work on ships, submarines, at a variety of shore locations, as well as in an industrial fabrication shop and office environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations related to Safety and Hazardous Materials. Ability to travel 25%. Preferred qualifications: OSHA-10 Maritime trained. Familiar with NAVSEA Standard Items and the SIPH. Process Control Procedure (PCP) development in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Item. Knowledge of 29 CFR and 40 CFR. Valid U.S. passport preferred.
