About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVOR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience required License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS (can be obtained after acceptance) Must-Have: Must be able to pass EKG testing before the start date. Ability to float to other services such as General, Ortho, GYN, Urology, Robots, Plastics, and ENT is required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Description: The ideal candidate will work in a cardiovascular operating room setting. They will be responsible for circulating and providing conscious sedation. Experience in CVOR cases is essential. Call duty will be required three to four nights per week and every other weekend. Holiday rotation is also necessary. The unit handles a variety of patient cases, including open-heart procedures. Candidates should be comfortable with a patient ratio of 1:1. The daily census is approximately 1-5 cases per day. Interdisciplinary support from various services is available. The role includes participation in special procedures such as CABG, valve repair, and thoracic cases. EKG testing must be administered and passed prior to acceptance. Floating to other surgical disciplines may occur depending on scheduling needs. Emergency response and infection control measures are part of the responsibilities. Familiarity with cerner charting is preferred but not required.
