Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description

This short-term project role focuses on assembling kits and reworking packages that arrive with packaging or assembly issues. You ensure that all products meet quality standards before distribution by inspecting, correcting, and preparing packages in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming packages for defects, inaccuracies, missing components, or assembly issues.
• Correct packaging and assembly issues to ensure all products meet established quality standards.
• Assemble kits and prepare products for distribution according to written instructions.
• Rework packages that have packaging or assembly problems to bring them up to required specifications.
• Verify package contents for accuracy and completeness before they move forward in the process.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures in the warehouse and on the assembly line.
• Meet daily productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
• Work a consistent overnight schedule on 3rd shift (8:30 PM – 7:30 AM), four days per week with some Saturdays as needed during the 3-week project assignment.
• Perform repetitive tasks while standing for most of the shift in an assembly line setting.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or production environment (warehouse experience required).
• General labor experience with comfort handling packaging materials in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify package defects, missing components, and assembly issues.
• Ability to ensure all packages are corrected and completed accurately.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and efficiently.
• Ability to work overnight hours on 3rd shift.
• Ability to work some Saturdays as part of the project schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with assembly and kitting processes (trainable on the job).
• Ability to assemble kits and rework packages following established instructions and quality standards.
• Exposure to kitting, inventory handling, and packing in a warehouse or production environment.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Perth Amboy, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
