Field Service Technician

At Burwell Material Handling, people come first. Our team, our customers, and the communities we serve are the reason we exist. We're who we are today because of the people behind us. Every team member, every connection, and every customer relationship helped shape this company.

We've built our reputation by delivering smarter, safer material handling across the full lifecycle: equipment sales, rentals, service and parts, fleet telematics, and engineered automation solutions. We do it with the kind of personal attention that comes from being neither too big to care nor too small to keep up. We listen first, we move fast, and we keep our word.

We're growing, and we're looking for forward-thinking, motivated teammates who want to help build something meaningful-where your contributions count, and your voice is heard.

About the Role:

As a Field Service Technician with Burwell, you'll be on the road each day, clocking in from your company-provided service vehicle and heading to customer sites across Miami, FL and surrounding areas. You'll service and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial lifts, and other equipment from top brands that keep warehouses running. You'll work independently with a strong team behind you, receive ongoing training, and grow your career with a company that's growing too. If you're hands-on, mechanically minded, and ready to take ownership of your work-we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

• Diagnose and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, boom lifts, and other warehouse vehicles
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, LP/diesel engine, and electrical system issues
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and hydraulic gauges to pinpoint and fix problems
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep customer equipment running smoothly
• Service multiple brands including Hyundai, Bobcat, Clark, Genie, JLG, and Skyjack
• Participate in manufacturer-certified training to stay up to date on equipment and repair techniques
• Promote service offerings like maintenance programs, inspections, and parts
• Inspect and maintain your service vehicle, tools, and inventory for safety and readiness
• Support and mentor junior techs when needed

Skills & Experience We're Looking For:

• Prior experience in forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive repair
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally and meet the physical demands of the job
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to travel within the assigned service territory

Benefits:
All offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment drug test and background check. Burwell Material Handling is a drug-free workplace.

• Competitive pay based on experience
• Excellent benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and 401K with Company Match
• Progressive Paid Time Off and Holidays - starting with 3 weeks PTO in your first year
• Paid parental leave for moms and dads
• Opportunities for growth and internal promotion
• Annual Community Impact Day - paid volunteer time in the places we work and live

Our goal is to improve the quality of work life by using fair and consistent treatment and providing equal growth opportunities for all team members. We are an equal opportunity employer as defined by federal, state or local laws.

If you're looking to build a meaningful career, we're excited to support your goals and help you grow with us.
