Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Odessa, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/13/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 13, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department position requiring TX or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC and ENPC certifications.Details\n \n Fast-paced, high-acuity Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations\n Patient ratio of 1:4\n Night shift, 4x12 hours, 18:45-07:15, on a 36/48 alternating schedule (straight 48s also considered)\n 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract\n Must work Thanksgiving and New Year's Day OR Christmas Eve and Christmas Day\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required\n Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC\n Minimum 2 years of ER experience required\n Prior travel nursing experience required\n Level II Trauma Center experience required\n Cerner charting experience preferred\n Experience managing trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and multisystem organ dysfunction\n Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation\n Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE\n Additional Information\n \n Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, respiratory distress, and neurological events\n Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications and vasopressors\n Apply splints and assist with orthopedic care as needed\n Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing; a positive result results in automatic cancellation\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-757508.
