Allocortech designs and manufactures safety-critical power electronics, avionics, and control systems for uncrewed, aerospace, and defense platforms. We are a small, fast-moving engineering company based in central Virginia. Programs move on customer timelines, not committee calendars — which is why the PMO needs someone who can keep multiple workstreams visible, documented, and on schedule.

About the role

We are hiring a detail-oriented Program Coordinator to sit at the center of the Program Management Office. You will support planning, execution, and governance across several concurrent programs, working with program managers, project leads, and cross-functional stakeholders.

You will be the connective tissue of the PMO: maintaining schedules and documentation, tracking risks and dependencies, processing customer purchase orders and contracts, and making sure program teams and leadership have the visibility they need to make good decisions.

What you will do

• Coordinate day-to-day execution across multiple concurrent programs — timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
• Maintain PMO governance artifacts: status reports, RAID logs (risks, actions, issues, decisions), and program dashboards.
• Support program and project managers with scheduling, resource tracking, budget monitoring, and documentation.
• Plan and facilitate governance meetings (steering committees, stand-ups, retrospectives): agendas, minutes, and action-item follow-through.
• Monitor program budgets against forecast and flag variances or risks early.
• Maintain and improve PMO templates, tools, and standard operating procedures.
• Serve as liaison among program teams, stakeholders, and leadership so communication stays timely and accurate.
• Track cross-program dependencies and risks; escalate issues before they become blockers.
• Support intake and prioritization of new program requests, and onboard staff to PMO tools and processes.
• Contribute to post-program reviews and lessons-learned documentation.
• Receive and log incoming customer purchase orders; coordinate internal approval.
• Enter approved purchase orders and related contract information into internal systems accurately and on schedule.
• Track customer contracts through review, approval, and execution, with proper documentation and filing.
• Assist with customer billables and invoices.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Operations, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years in program coordination, project coordination, a PMO, or a similar operations role.
• Experience in aerospace and defense (or a closely related regulated hardware / manufacturing environment).
• Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid program methods.
• Proficiency with project and collaboration tools (Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar).
• Strong organization and attention to detail; able to hold several priorities at once.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including status updates to leadership.
• Sound judgment and a proactive, problem-solving posture when issues or risks appear.

Preferred qualifications

• CAPM, PMP, or similar certification — or actively working toward one.
• Experience inside a formal PMO governance framework.
• Advanced Excel or other reporting / data-visualization skills.
• Experience supporting programs in a technology or professional-services environment.
• Comfort with purchase-order, contract, and invoice workflows.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
