Project Manager

[About the Role]
Join NYSERDA's Environmental Research Team as a Project Manager for the NYS Agricultural Technical Working Group (A-TWG). This is a remote, part-time (30 hours/week) opportunity with competitive pay ($40 $60/hr), lasting 2 years. You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance the intersection of agriculture and clean energy, supporting impactful programs like Sun & Soil. Candidates in NY or neighboring states, especially those with agricultural knowledge, are encouraged to apply.




[Responsibilities]




- Serve as the primary liaison for the A-TWG and specialist committees, fostering productive relationships and supporting members in achieving project objectives
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate meetings and workgroups, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective engagement
- Oversee contracted facilitation, technical, communications, and outreach support for the A-TWG
- Represent NYSERDA at conferences and meetings related to solar-agriculture issues
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive research, technology innovation, and market characterization efforts
- Manage program offerings and awarded projects, particularly in agrivoltaics and on-farm solar initiatives
- Support external partnerships to advance state policies at the nexus of agriculture and solar energy
- Develop and implement communication strategies to share key findings with stakeholders and policymakers
- Track and report on metrics, accomplishments, and program impacts
- Maintain a dynamic network of stakeholders and experts to inform program and project design




[Required Skills and Experience]




- 3 6 years' experience in complex project management
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and pragmatic decision-making skills
- Proficiency in relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and public speaking
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, SharePoint, Teams, Salesforce, NEIS
- Ability to travel up to 10% across upstate NY




[Preferred Skills]




- Direct experience with agricultural issues or familiarity with NYS agricultural policies and stakeholders
- Event management and meeting facilitation
- Experience with solar-agricultural or energy-related projects
