In this role you will be responsible for:

• Lead, develop, train, and inspire the housekeeping team to consistently deliver exceptional service and cleanliness standards.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and recognition.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain housekeeping team members.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance evaluations, and development discussions.
• Address performance concerns promptly through counseling, corrective action, and training when necessary.
• Create an environment that encourages employee growth, engagement, and professional development.
• Ensure all team members are properly trained on luxury hospitality standards, apartment-style housekeeping procedures, safety protocols, equipment operation, and service recovery practices.
• Oversee the daily housekeeping operation, including suites, common areas, public spaces, offices, and back-of-house areas.
• Understand and manage the unique requirements of a luxury extended-stay and apartment-style environment, including stayover service, move-ins, move-outs, and deep cleaning programs.
• Develop staffing plans and schedules based on occupancy forecasts, arrivals, departures, stayovers, and business demand.
• Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, apartments, common areas, and service areas to ensure compliance with AKA brand standards.
• Monitor departmental productivity, cleanliness scores, and quality assurance standards.
• Collaborate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure seamless resident and guest experience.
• Respond promptly and professionally to resident and guest concerns, ensuring appropriate follow-up and service recovery.
• Assist in the preparation and management of the department's annual operating budget.
• Monitor labor costs, supply expenses, laundry costs, contracted services, and overall departmental spending.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses while maintaining service excellence.
• Review invoices, reconcile purchasing records, and ensure proper expense controls are maintained.
• Manage purchasing and inventory control for housekeeping supplies, guest amenities, linens, uniforms, chemicals, and operating equipment.
• Forecast supply needs based on occupancy levels and operational demand.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
• Conduct regular inventories of linen, uniforms, guest supplies, cleaning products, and operational assets.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, usage reports, and replacement schedules.
• Assist with asset preservation programs and identify replacement needs for furnishings, equipment, and operational supplies.
• Track departmental performance against budget goals and productivity targets.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and contracted service providers.
• Ensure vendors meet established service levels and quality expectations.
• Obtain pricing, review proposals, and assist with vendor evaluations as needed.
• Monitor outsourced services, including laundry and specialty cleaning programs, to ensure quality and consistency.
• Maintain proper linen inventories and par levels.
• Monitor linen quality and replacement needs.
• Ensure departmental compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures.
• Take immediate action regarding resident, guest, or team member safety concerns.
• Maintain proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and property safety initiatives.
• Perform regular property walks to ensure cleanliness, consistency, maintenance awareness, and overall presentation standards.
• Support property-wide initiatives, projects, and special events.
• Meet or exceed departmental operational, quality, and financial goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience managing departmental budgets, labor costs, purchasing, and expense controls.
• Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and operational planning.
• Strong guest service and service recovery skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements
• Experience working in a luxury hotel, residential, apartment-style, or extended-stay environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years of housekeeping leadership or management experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays when business needs require.
• Reading, writing, and verbal proficiency in English.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds when necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 90% of the workday.
• Ability to safely work with cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
