Outside Warehouse Yard Supervisor

Job Description

James Nursery Company is looking for dynamic and energetic team players to join our family. Our company has been in business since 1907 serving the landscaping industry with quality material and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking an Outside Warehouse Yard Supervisor to oversee the daily business and work flow of the outside warehouse, using established procedures to achieve optimum efficiency and accuracy. This includes, but not limited to, inventory control, customer service, proper paper flow, incoming and outgoing freight management, employee leadership, and safety and security.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establishes leadership skills with the ability to support teams, develop culture and demonstrate coaching and ongoing performance management.
• Maintain inventory practices resulting in inventory accuracy.
• Conduct warehouse manpower planning on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis.
• Determine work priorities based on the workload and make daily assignments.
• Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement through good and clear communication practices.
• Responsible for the general condition of the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas for overall cleanliness.
• Coordinate and oversee the loading and manifesting of daily shipping/receiving teams.

Qualifications/Skills

• 2+ years of manufacturing, operations, or warehouse experience
• 1+ years of experience supervising or leading a team
• Valid driver’s license
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
• Forklift/Tractor experience
• Ability to remain mobile for the entirety of shift and lift up to 75lbs on a repetitive basis
• Strong interpersonal skills with the willingness to engage with both salary and hourly personnel while managing conflict resolution
• Ability to be on call as a rotation and work overtime, holidays, and Saturdays as required
