Details Acute inpatient Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a Level 2 trauma facility 36 hours/week on a 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Patient population includes acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, drug toxicity, ETOH withdrawal, and post-PTCA/stent cases requiring close monitoring Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 Unit supported by CNAs/PCTs (3 per shift) and a telemetry tech Respiratory therapy available 24/7; only home ventilators managed on the unit Documentation via Epic and medication administration via MAK system Weekend work required, typically every other weekend Floating required as part of a Resource Float team, prioritized to appropriate units first No self-scheduling and no on-call requirements Requirements Active NY RN license, or proof of pending application with applied date, required for consideration Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required NIHSS certification required prior to start Minimum of 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post cardiac catheterization care required Must be able to explain any employment gaps over 90 days Additional Information Provide progressive/intermediate care nursing to adult patients with cardiac and acute conditions requiring close monitoring 1-2 days of unit orientation provided Holiday coverage required if needed, including 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, New Year's Day/Eve) Dress code includes navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, professional groomed hair, no beards, and no artificial nail polish Local candidates accepted with tiered pay rates based on direct-line mileage from the facility Public transportation is not accessible in the area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended All-season or snow tires recommended for vehicles during November through April First-time travelers may be considered American Traveler Job ID P-749356.
