Role Overview

As a Press Brake Operator (Level III), you will be responsible for setting up and operating metal bending machines to achieve high-quality and quantity standards. This advanced role involves leading and mentoring, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Following all safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Performing quality inspections per documentation and control plans.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, safety rules, and work instructions.
• Using basic measurement tools (e.g., calipers, squares).
• Identifying and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Meeting attendance and efficiency standards.
• Performing basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Assisting in other areas as needed.

Advanced Responsibilities (Level III)

As a Level III operator, you will also be responsible for:

• Calibrating press brake equipment and managing tool libraries.
• Identifying bend sequences without reference sheets.
• Training and mentoring employees on quality and efficiency standards.
• Leading safety initiatives and participating in team meetings.
• Coordinating maintenance needs and ensuring preventative maintenance completion.
• Analyzing and resolving complex production issues.
• Exceeding company standards for quality and efficiency.
• Supporting production scheduling and communication with leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of related experience operating press brake machines.
• Proficiency in determining and applying shims for precise adjustments (e.g., .010, .020).
• Comprehensive understanding of tooling for hemming and offset operations.
• Ability to select appropriate V-opening in dies based on material thickness.
• Ability to create new programs on the machine.
• Proven ability to train and mentor new and current employees to achieve company standards for quality and efficiency.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Work Environment

• The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
