Gastroenterologist – Fee Basis

Mather, California – Greater Sacramento Area

The VA Northern California Health Care System is seeking a Fee Basis Gastroenterologist to join our team at the Sacramento VA Medical Center in Mather, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated physician who wants flexibility while serving the nation’s Veterans in a modern, well‑supported clinical environment.

Position Highlights

• Provide outpatient Gastroenterology care, including consults, follow-up visits, and procedure-based care as assigned
• Perform general GI procedures such as EGD and colonoscopy
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including GI nurses, APPs, and internal medicine partners
• Flexible scheduling based on availability
• No call requirements for Fee Basis providers
• Support from an established GI program with modern equipment and experienced staff

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Unrestricted medical license (any U.S. state or territory)
• Ability to obtain VA privileges and complete credentialing
• Prior VA experience helpful but not required
