And we’re reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity.Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you.About the Role:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineer to support the ESS GRIFFON program, focusing on the supporting trade studies on integration of a Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) satellite communications (SATCOM) system Testbed. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in systems and hardware integration and cross-functional coordination between different stakeholders. As the Project Engineer, your roles will be: Perform trades studies -including assessing facility feasibility and personnel requirements, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimate, and schedule for integration of HWIL test environmentCollaborate with cross-functional teams - including software, hardware, test engineers, and facility leads- to identify and prioritize facility integration of testbed hardware with overall system design and developmentCoordinates activities with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.Coordinate with procurement, subcontractors, and facility managers to ensure timely material and resource availabilityLead and facilitate Interface Control Document (ICD) review and alignment across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and program requirementsSuccessful applicants generally have at least 5+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in Engineering or related STEM degree (e.g., (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Systems, or related field)The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.Basic QualificationsSkill Requirements:Experience in the field of Project Engineering, Field Engineering, and/or Program Support experienceProven experience leading complex engineering projects through all phases (design, procurement, construction/commissioning, closeout)Experience applying cost estimating and project management methodologies, including developing Bills of Materials (BOM), to support program planning and executionBackground in systems-level hardware and software testingExperience with reviewing, interpreting, and developing ICDs, with focus on the space to ground segment interfaceStrong technical aptitude with ability to read, interpret, and validate engineering drawings, schematics, and specificationsExcellent written/verbal communication skills; ability to brief senior leadership and external customersExperience in agile development process, roles, and rhythms (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)Security Clearance / Work AuthorizationTo meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.Active Secret security clearance is required for consideration and is the minimum level of clearance required to start employment.Although not required to start, the selected applicant must be eligible to obtain, and maintain, Top Secret with adjudicated SCI Eligibility (i.e. TS/SCI) for long term employment on this programDesired Skills7+ years of experience of project engineering, field engineering, or related program support experiencePrior SATCOM experience with background in HWIL testbedsFamiliarity with LM corporate engineering processes, tools, and data management systemsExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced working knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP, EVM, MIL-STD, LM governance frameworksPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $131100.00 - $243500.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
