Data Center Controls Engineer - Odessa

Salary: $139,000 - 139,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 10 years of relevant controls experience; alternatively, at least 15 years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 10 years of industrial controls experience in a critical environment, such as a data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil and gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, or water facility.
• At least 9 years of general project or vendor management experience related to construction and project execution, including proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI and submittal tracking.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time.
• Preferred: Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience with industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, or MODBUS.
• Preferred: Understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Preferred: Ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and requirements and navigate challenging situations.
• Preferred: Experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Preferred: Previous AWS or Amazon experience.
• Preferred: At least four years of military service.

• Manage BMS and EPMS scope for AWS data center construction and ensure controls are deployed according to the scope of work and specifications.
• Review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings, as well as controls sequences of operation, and provide feedback to design teams.
• Develop controls bills of material, building automation drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Size control valves and damper actuators, select controls devices, and develop or modify control logic and graphical user interfaces.
• Manage stakeholder deliverables, requirements, project timelines, construction contracts, service contracts, and vendors; act as a project sponsor or lead when needed.
• Develop scopes of work for site improvement projects.
• Provide technical assistance to internal customers throughout the data center lifecycle and perform root cause analysis for controls service issues.
• Schedule and supervise quarterly BMS and EPMS maintenance.
• Participate in a global on-call rotation and build technical expertise across multiple automation platforms.
• Innovate, deploy, optimize, and maintain data center automation systems, including BMS and EPMS, and develop new processes and standards.
