Summary of Role:Under general supervision this position assists and performs specialized and routine laboratory examinations and :Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) company policies safety policies and practices quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety quality and regulatory guidelines. Perform routine testing of samples for HPLC GC LCMS or ICPMS in a timely accurate manner. Work with the lab supervisor to determine priority of samples before performing the following:Solution preparationSample extractionInstrument setupData processingResult entry into LIMSPerform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshoots secondary review of reports and summarize large amounts of data using Excel instrument software and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in all laboratory handle and dispose of laboratory hazardous gas responsibility for maintaining inventory and restocking of general laboratory inventory and restocking of columns calibration standards routine maintenance parts/accessories and sample prep chemicals and standards into Chemical opportunities to reduce routine laboratory costs by increased efficiency (higher throughput decreased cost of supplies).Execute projects as assigned to meet changing laboratory needs and other Lab employees on sample preparation data processing instrument maintenance and data responsibility for general laboratory organization and relevant work details to Lab Supervisor and other duties as :High School diploma or GED degree in a scientific or related field of three (3) years of laboratory experience (1) year of experience operating analytical instrumentation such as HPLC GC LC-MS ICP-MS or similar systems degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline preferred plus a minimum of one (1) year of laboratory experience working in a Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) environment is a Competencies & Attributes:Good knowledge of laboratory terminology equipment materials and the techniques/procedures commonly used in the analysis of food and related knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and to maintain punctuality and predictable the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in both team-based and independent Conditions:Work is normally performed in a typical laboratory possess the ability to work in a standard laboratory setting and to use standard office and lab wear appropriate personal protective physical activity requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to ten (10) hours per be able to lift and carry items weighing 25 be able to perform work onsite and be comfortable in a light industrial environment including some exposure to non-toxic : $27 to $33 per hour DOE
