RN Emergency Room

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a Level 4 Trauma Center setting. This role involves managing acute and emergency cases in an 8-bed ER with a 24-hour patient volume of approximately 30. The nurse is expected to perform patient assessments, administer medications, implement treatment plans, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and on-site physicians. Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the emergency room setting.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor patient status continuously.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with emergency physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond promptly to trauma and emergency situations following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Ensure compliance with TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and BLS standards during patient care.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and safety initiatives.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform clinical assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Minimum of less than 1 year experience in emergency nursing or related field acceptable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working in a Level 4 Trauma Center or similar emergency care environment.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and emergency department workflows.

• Must be prepared to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency room environment.
• On-site emergency physicians available 24/7 to support clinical decision-making.
• Compliance with all trauma and emergency care protocols is mandatory.

• Night shift schedule in the Emergency Room.
• Shift assignments based on hospital staffing requirements and patient volume.
