About us
The Columns is a historic hotel on St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District. Guests come for the porch, the streetcar passing by, and New Orleans hospitality. We’re adding a Server Assistant to our front-of-house team. If you like a busy dining room and want to grow in hospitality, we’d like to meet you.

What you’ll do

Support servers so guests get smooth, attentive service from start to finish
Greet and seat guests when needed, pour water, and deliver bread and drinks
Run food quickly and accurately, and know the menu well enough to answer basic questions
Clear and reset tables fast while keeping the dining room and porch spotless
Restock side stations, glassware, silverware and linens through the shift
Help with opening, closing and side work
Support private events and busy weekend brunch service

What we’re looking for

Previous busser, runner or server assistant experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right person
A warm, upbeat attitude and a real interest in taking care of guests
Good teamwork and the ability to read the room and anticipate needs
Comfortable on your feet for long shifts and able to lift up to 30 lbs
Available to work nights, weekends and holidays
Must be 18+ (21+ to serve alcohol); Louisiana Responsible Vendor permit preferred or obtained after hire
