Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Austin is entering an exciting period of growth as we expand key service lines to better serve the Greater Austin community. This includes the development of a new cardiac catheterization (cath) lab, expanded imaging services, and a new breast imaging and mammography center, along with enhancements across the campus. Job Title: Acute Care Post Recovery RN Status: Full Time Shift: Nights (7PM-7AM) Start Date Range: October 2026 Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Austin Main Nursing Unit Patient Population: Medical Surgical, Orthopedics, Intermediate Care, Critical Care # of beds: 24 Patient Ratios: Med Surg/Tele - 1:4/5, Progressive Care/Intermediate Care - 1:3, Intensive Care - 1:2 Mixed acuity unit- Ideal candidates must possess at least 2 years of ICU experience and be willing to take Med/Surg, ICU, IMC, and post recovery assignments as needed by the department. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions of the Role As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members. Empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. Contribute to peers’ development, show community service commitment. Key Success Factors A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
