Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician Location: Remote (U.S.-based) Pay: $20.00/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, assigned 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM CT (mandatory overtime) Training: 6 weeks, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CT (attendance is critical) Position Overview We’re seeking a Remote Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician to handle high-volume inbound calls from members, providers, and other callers. You’ll provide professional phone support through a criteria-based prior authorization process, document approvals/denials accurately, and route clinical/judgment questions to a pharmacist. Responsibilities Take inbound calls and provide professional customer service support Document interactions, approvals/denials accurately and timely Escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist Work across multiple systems while on calls Use MS Teams and Outlook daily (Word/Excel helpful) Required Qualifications 1+ year inbound, high-volume call center experience (healthcare/insurance/PBM/medical office preferred) Strong communication, customer service, and documentation/data entry skills Comfortable multitasking across multiple systems during calls Verifiable High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications Pharmacy Technician experience strongly preferred Pharmacy Tech License/Certification/Trainee License preferred If you have an active credential, include a screenshot of the active credential at the top of your resume Remote Work Requirements (Must Have) Hardwired internet connection (Wi-Fi only is not acceptable) Internet speed of 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload minimum Internet speed test screenshot required with submission Private, HIPAA-compliant workspace Smartphone required (for use of the PING application) Additional Candidate Questions (please answer on your resume) City/State you currently reside in Do you hold a Pharmacy Tech License/Certification/Trainee License?
