Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Current state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with ventilators and IV starts - Proficient in computerized charting (Epic) Description: This position requires nursing professionals to provide care in an intensive care unit. The nurse will work with a variety of patient diagnoses including oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, and sepsis. Common treatments involve mechanical ventilation, pulmonary artery catheter placement, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Experience managing patients with complex medication regimens and undergoing chemotherapy is essential. Nurses are responsible for monitoring hemodynamic status and titrating vasoactive drips. Collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams such as respiratory services and pharmacy is vital. Patients may require specialized procedures such as bronchoscopy or endoscopy. A strong emphasis is placed on infection prevention and management of multisystem organ dysfunction. Ideal candidates will have experience in high-pressure environments and demonstrate critical thinking skills. The role mandates strict adherence to safety protocols and hospital policies. Candidates must exhibit effective communication skills and provide compassionate care to patients and families. Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment is necessary.
