This School Psychologist position is based in the Largo, Maryland area and offers a balanced, part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week. Largo is a well-situated suburban community in Prince George's County, known for its convenient access to Washington, D.C., while maintaining a quieter, residential feel. The position is structured to provide flexibility: while assessment activities must occur face-to-face with students, report writing and participation in team meetings may be completed virtually. This hybrid model is designed to support efficiency and professional autonomy, allowing focused time on campus for testing, followed by remote work for documentation and collaboration.Typical responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students referred for academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental concerns Administering standardized tests and assessment batteries, observing students in educational settings, and gathering information from teachers, families, and support staff Interpreting assessment data to develop clear, detailed evaluation reports that align with state and federal regulations and local district guidelines Participating in virtual and in-person multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP and eligibility meetings, to present findings and collaborate on decisions regarding eligibility and services Providing data-informed recommendations for instructional strategies, behavioral supports, and school-based interventions Consulting with teachers and school staff to support the implementation of interventions and accommodations within general and special education settings Contributing to the development and maintenance of a positive, supportive school climate by sharing expertise in social-emotional learning and behavioral supports Maintaining accurate, timely documentation and adhering to all confidentiality, ethical, and legal standards of the professionThe typical workweek involves scheduling blocks of time at the school for direct student testing, followed by designated hours for virtual report writing and attendance at online meetings with instructional teams and families. This part-time structure is ideal for School Psychologists seeking a consistent, meaningful caseload without a full-time commitment.Largo and the surrounding communities in Prince George's County are known for their strong focus on education, community engagement, and student success. Required Qualifications Psychologist, School, Teletherapy Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution Current and valid School Psychologist credential or eligibility for certification/licensure in Maryland, in accordance with state and district requirements Formal training and experience in conducting psychoeducational evaluations, including cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting (practicum and internship experience may be considered) Demonstrated proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized assessment tools commonly used in school psychology practice Experience developing high-quality, legally defensible evaluation reports and recommendations tailored to individual student needs Knowledge of special education processes, including IDEA, Section 504, and relevant Maryland and local district regulations Ability to participate in and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, eligibility determinations, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning Strong skills in virtual collaboration platforms for remote meetings and report writing, such as secure video conferencing and shared documentation systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with students, families, educators, and related service providers Organizational skills to manage a part-time caseload efficiently within approximately 20 hours per week Ability to provide services in person for student assessments in Largo, Maryland Comfort working in diverse school communities with varied cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds Up-to-date vaccinations as required by local school or district policies, including compliance with any TB screening and immunization requirements Ability to pass all required background checks and fingerprinting as mandated for school-based personnel Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of experience as a School Psychologist in K-12 educational settings Prior experience working within Maryland public or charter schools Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams with complex cases involving learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental conditions Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Experience with both traditional paper-based and digital assessment platforms Comfort facilitating virtual meetings with families and staff, including IEP and eligibility meetings Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical recommendations that are easily implemented in classroom and school environments Experience collaborating with teachers, counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers Training or experience in culturally responsive assessment and intervention practices Fluency in additional languages beyond English, particularly those commonly spoken in the Prince George's County region Interest in contributing to school-wide initiatives that support positive school climate and student wellness About Company At AMN Healthcare, we strive to be recognized as the most trusted, innovative, and influential force in helping healthcare organizations provide quality patient care that continually evolves to make healthcare more human, more effective, and more achievable.
