Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Administrative Sergeant, the School Pupil Transportation Safety Coordinator is responsible for the majority of licensing, and evaluating school bus, school pupil activity bus, youth bus applicants and drivers from approximately 12 unified school districts, three union high school districts, and 13 elementary school districts for the Border Division, Santa Ana Area office.

Special Requirements

The CHP utilizes their own School Pupil Transportation Safety Coordinator certification list. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the School Pupil Transportation Safety Coordinator classification to be eligible to take the examination. To obtain certification list eligibility, please view the examination bulletin below and follow all instructions. In addition to applying for the examination, applicants MUST submit an application to this Job Control in order to be considered for the position.
Incumbents currently in the classification who are eligible to transfer shall upload a completed and signed CHP 220N, Request for Transfer-Nonuniformed, form to this job control. The most senior same-class transfer applicant who responds by the final filing date shall be selected. CHP 220N link:
