Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill and medically unstable patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support. The RN is responsible for performing comprehensive patient assessments, managing complex treatment plans, administering critical medications, operating advanced life-support equipment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care in a fast-paced critical care environment.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for critically ill patients.
• Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, laboratory values, and neurological assessments.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and titrate vasoactive drips according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation, advanced airway support, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, arterial lines, central venous catheters, and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, including medical emergencies, Code Blue events, and rapid response activations.
• Provide care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, septic shock, cardiac emergencies, neurological disorders, trauma, post-operative complications, and multi-organ dysfunction.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures, including central line insertion, arterial line placement, intubation, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, procedures, and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies and regulatory standards.
