Title : CTE - Work-based Learning Specialist
Reports To : Director of Curriculum and Instruction, CTE
FLSA Status : Exempt ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Qualifications:
- Collegiate Professional license with an endorsement in a Career and Technical Education area or administration and supervision.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret educational materials, and write reports.
- Must possess excellent communication skills for diverse audiences adn the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators and business/industry leaders.
- Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in a related field. Some experience in an an instructional delivery supervisory capacity preferred. A broad knowledge of state and federal CTE guidelines, curriculum analysis and development, and use of technological applications in the classroom is preferred.
- Must possess experience and skills in budget management, records management, and data interpretation.
Required : PK-12 Administration and Supervision Endorsement
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in educational technology and software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Physical Demands:
- Regular communication (talking and hearing).
- Frequent sitting; occasional standing, walking, and handling objects.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Work Environment:
- Standard school setting with reasonable accommodations provided as needed. Terms of Employment:
- 220 day - Eleven-month employment

- Provides leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive career education program.
- Market and showcase CTE programs and opportunities to students, schools, and stakeholders.
- Monitors the division's CTE budget, including the Perkins Grant.
- Collaborates with Finance Department and Grants regarding state and federal grants.
- Indirectly supervises CTE instruction in classrooms through classroom visits and classroom observations on a regular basis to ensure consistency of content and effectiveness of instructional delivery.
- Collaborates with teachers to coordinate events for students.
- Expand and deepen partnerships with local businesses to increase student access to career exploration and real-world engagement experiences.
- Collaborate with school counselors and building administrators to strategically identify and place students in CTE programs pathways aligned to interests and workforce demand.
- Coordinate and support school-based career events and employer interactions that enhance student exposure to local career opportunities.
- Serves as a central office liaison with the business/industry community to coordinate school-based instruction and work experience programs.
- Coordinates curriculum development, implementation, and revisions to the curriculum in K-12 Career and Technical Education programs.
- Monitors changes in laws, policies, and the CTE Course Competencies in the assigned curriculum areas and makes changes to the curriculum and programs as needed.
- Works with the Career Counselor, school counselors, and curriculum and instruction staff to explore a wide range of academic and career options.
- Lead professional learning for stakeholders focused on supporting skill development, research practices, and information aligned with state standards in these content areas.
- Collaborate with administrators to develop and monitor school-level improvement plans tied to walkthrough data and assessment outcomes.
- Collaborate with SPED, EL, and Gifted teams to ensure instructional supports are differentiated and accessible for all students.
