We support our employees with 12 holidays, up to 24 vacation days, 12 sick days and one personal day every year.Additional Benefits IncludeRetirement options for hybrid pension/401(k) or 401(k) only with a 10% contributionMedical coverage including a 100% county paid premium option-Dental and Vision coverage including coverage for adult designeesHealth Savings account with a county contribution up to $1200/year, Flexible Spending Account100% county-paid Long-Term Disability and Short-Term Disability optionProfessional Development including professional membership fees paidTuition ReimbursementPlus: Onsite medical clinic, and gym; hospital insurance, pet insurance auto and home insurance and discounts at County facilities.Job SummaryProvides supervision and direction to subordinate staff and coordinates workflow within the work unit.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Administration, or other closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.Preference will be given to applicants with prior supervisory experience.Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.Employees must maintain authorization to enter the jail and maintain Division-wide training requirements annually.Essential FunctionsProvides supervision and direction to case management staff including answering questions and resolving problems within the work unit.Creates a process for, and monitors, the assignment of caseloads to ensure appropriate supervision levels.Supervises staff, which includes hiring, orienting, training, assigning, and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline.Ensures that case managers perform intake, risk/need assessments, pre-sentence report investigations, maintain up-to-date monitoring of court requirements and provide appropriate referrals to outside agencies.Reviews work performance (including PSRs as necessary), monitors accuracy and timeliness of case management activities, and conducts quality assurance audits.Participates in the interviewing and selection of staff within the work unit. Provides training, coaching, and ongoing support for new and existing case managers.Schedules staff coverage to accommodate client services and workload needs by rearranging staff assignments as needed.Serves as a liaison/information source between the work unit, courts, other criminal justice agencies, treatment agencies, and the public.Assists in the developing, writing, and implementation of internal policies, job descriptions, and guidelines in conjunction with Administration.Provides coverage in the absence of the Program Manager or other supervisory staff to assist in the smooth operation of the unit/division.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (Ksa)Knowledge of:Basic supervisory principlesCase Management methods and techniquesCriminal Justice System, including state mandates, legal documents, and terminology.Community Social Service AgenciesBasic PC operationsRules, practices, and procedures pertaining to the work unit to which assignedSkills and Abilities to:Work with computer software related to job-specific dutiesCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writingEffectively interpret general policies, criteria, and procedures for specific situationsUnderstand county and division personnel policies and proceduresPlan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinatesWork as part of a teamInteract confidently with Judges and other criminal justice personnelMaintain complex and confidential recordsIdentify and understand problems and determine the appropriate measures to solve those problemsWorking Conditions And Physical RequirementsWork duties are typically performed in a general office setting or jail environment. Travels to locations throughout the County.
