# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Texas**Start Date:** September 23, 2026 **Location:** San Antonio, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Night shift, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM, 13-week contract, rotating weekends, no call required Highlights: - Fast-paced 9-bed emergency department with manageable 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio- Comprehensive emergency care including triage, trauma stabilization, moderate sedation, and cardiac monitoring- Work with a collaborative 17-member team in a supportive, team-oriented environment- Meditech EMR system for streamlined documentation- 13-week assignment with consistent night shift schedule- Navy blue scrubs, no floating to other units Requirements: - Active Texas RN license or ability to obtain- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required- Proficiency in triage using ESI criteria, emergency assessment, and medication administration- Experience managing critical patients in emergency settings- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment- Preferred: Trauma and stroke care experience, moderate sedation competency- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure Why It's a Great Opportunity: This emergency department role offers the perfect balance of high-acuity care and manageable patient loads, allowing you to practice at the top of your skillset while maintaining quality patient outcomes.
