This role includes working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, assisting with shop and yard work, and ensuring a safe work environment. The position may occasionally interface with customers.### **Key Responsibilities*** Maintain a safe working environment and culture* Take care of company property and equipment* Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and empowerment in all tasks* Function effectively as part of a team and work independently with minimal supervision* Lead, coach, and mentor junior technicians as needed* Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems* Assist with general shop and yard tasks as required* Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and customers* Travel to customer or job sites as needed (up to 20%)### **Education & Certifications****Required:*** High school diploma or equivalent* Capable of obtaining a CDL (Class A or B) with applicable endorsements – preferred, not required**Preferred:*** Technical or trade school background* Technical certifications, industry-specific licenses, or military technical experience### **Experience*** 3–7 years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing work* Experience with customer service* Experience working independently without direct supervision### **Skills & Competencies*** Strong mechanical, electrical, or plumbing skillset* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems* Critical thinking and problem-solving skills* Ability to synthesize technical information and communicate it clearly* Microsoft Office proficiency* Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures### **High-Impact Behaviors*** **Continuous Professional Development:** Seek opportunities for self-improvement and stay updated on industry trends* **Collaboration & Teamwork:** Work well with others, contribute to team goals, and value diverse perspectives* **Results-Driven Performance:** Focus on achieving objectives efficiently and effectively### **Driving & Travel Requirements*** Ability to complete driver-related forms and background checks* Clean driving record* DOT Medical Card – if applicable* Travel up to 20%, including occasional overnight stays### **Work Environment*** Outdoor work is required* Shop and yard work included* Physical activity may include lifting, standing, and moving equipmentWho We Are Looking For: Xylem is seeking mechanically inclined professionals who are passionate about hands-on work and problem-solving.
