Job Details Location: Center at Waterfront – WICHITA, KS 67206 Salary Range: $0.01 – $0.01 Hourly Shift: Any Job Summary The Sous Chef at The Center at Waterfront plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals to our residents. Working closely with the Executive Chef, this position assists in leading kitchen operations, ensuring culinary excellence, strict adherence to dietary guidelines, and maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, possess strong leadership skills, and have a compassionate understanding of the unique dietary needs of a skilled nursing facility. Key Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory control. Oversee daily meal production, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality. Ensure strict compliance with all therapeutic diet orders, resident preferences, and allergy restrictions. Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment. Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety (HACCP, local health codes) in the kitchen. Manage food ordering, rotation, and waste control to optimize budget and efficiency. Step in for the Executive Chef when absent, ensuring seamless kitchen operations. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of culinary experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in a healthcare, long‑term care, or skilled nursing facility setting is highly preferred. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred. Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety regulations (HACCP). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing resident needs. Must possess a valid Food Handler's Permit/ServSafe certification. #J-18808-Ljbffr
