Meat Clerk – 004 Houston‑Spencer Hwy – Store 004 Houston Spencer Store Location 1603 Spencer Hwy. S. Houston, Texas, 77587 United States Responsibilities Assist customers with friendly, courteous, and helpful service. Clean shelves and display cases. Clean, fill, and rotate Meat Wrap displays. Work with customers to take special orders and with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Under direct supervision, provide overall support for meat department operations. Qualifications Read and write Spanish and English; interact with general public and co-workers. Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and short correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees. Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Preferred Skills Basic PC and Outlook skills. Retail Management Certificate. Physical and Work Requirements The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store. Essential functions include lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, visual and auditory requirements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand, and stoop for prolonged periods. Certification Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
