Wine Steward Retail Sales

Job Description:

Draeger's Supermarkets, Inc in Menlo Park is seeking a full-time Wine Steward who has a passion for fine wine and enthusiasm for customer service. Flexibility in scheduling, including early evenings and weekends, is a must. This position reports to the Wine Manager.

Draeger's is a family-owned grocery store that satisfies a variety of grocery needs. We offer a blend of gourmet items, international and natural foods, prepared foods/bakery products, meat, wine, catering, beverages and cookware products.

Pay: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
•  Provide excellent customer service - greet customers in a friendly manner.
•  Answer any wine inquiries and assist customers in selecting wine, beer, and spirits based on their preferences, budget, and occasions.
•  Stock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed.
•  Support wine department during special events, tastings, and promotions.
•  Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
•  Some travel to our other store in Los Altos, CA may be required.

Qualifications:
•  Previous experience in wine and liquor retail preferred.
•  Knowledge of and adherence to California ABC Laws and regulations.
•  Friendly, professional, and helpful attitude toward customers and coworkers.
•  Is proactive, quick on their feet, organized and engaged.
•  Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
•  Able to work a variety of shifts.
•  Reliable and punctual.
•  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
