Data Engineer Los Angeles, California, United States $ 150,000.00 - 185,000.00 (US Dollar) Build the Data Backbone of a Healthcare AI Startup Join a stealth-mode healthcare venture as their first Data Engineer and lay the groundwork for real-time, high-impact data systems that power clinical decisions Industry: Healthcare AI Domain: Real-time patient data analytics Location: San Francisco / Austin TX / Remote (U.S. only) About the Role You’ll be the founding Data Engineer at a healthcare AI startup backed by a leading Data/AI-focused VC firm. This role is ideal for someone who loves building from scratch and wants their work to have immediate impact in a deeply meaningful space. What You’ll Do Design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL frameworks Develop real-time ingestion systems to support ML model deployment Partner with data scientists and AI engineers to operationalize analytics Architect and maintain the company’s data infrastructure and lakehouse Ensure data integrity, governance, and security protocols What You’ll Bring Expert-level Python or Scala skills Hands-on experience with Spark, dbt, Airflow Proficiency in AWS (Glue, S3, Redshift), Snowflake, or BigQuery Strong SQL and data modeling expertise Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, Terraform Benefits Competitive salary + early-stage equity Remote-first team with flexible hours Health, dental, and vision insurance Wellness stipend + generous PTO policy Ground-floor opportunity to shape a data-first organization Work Authorization Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are not able to sponsor work visas at this time or in the future.
