Qualifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• Active professional licensure in Respiratory Therapy.
• Prior experience with adult critical illness and rehabilitation settings preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Strong understanding of both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory devices.
• Competency in 12-Lead EKG, arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function testing.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care with minimal supervision, including intensive care and patient transport.
• Assess patients, recommend individualized treatment plans, and provide thorough explanation of procedures and equipment.
• Administer physician-prescribed treatments, including mechanical ventilation, nebulizer therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
• Perform suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and review of chest radiographs.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with medical procedures such as bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, and chest tube placements.
• Manage arterial punctures, ventilatory equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, accurately document care, and maintain precise hand-off communications during shift changes.
• Uphold hospital laboratory standards and assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as required.
