Job Summary The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the daily management of assigned patients in the NICU (Level III, Level IV). Direct patient care responsibilities include establishing plans of care, completion of admission history, expert physical examinations, procedures, orders, and daily note completion. Other responsibilities include delivery attendance at the Level III NICU sites, responding to changes in patient conditions, addressing nursing concerns, upholding the practice of family centered care/education, referrals to sub-specialists, and coordination of care related to discharge including follow-up appointments. Experience and Education Required Education Master's degree in nursing or Higher degree and Documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program and Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. OR Master's degree graduate of a Master's or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program. Licenses/Certifications Advanced Practice RN (CPNP-CNP) focus/specialty (NNP) by Texas State Board of Nursing upon hire and authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire. OR National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and certified licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board (PA-C) upon hire. AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers upon hire. Preferred Experience NICU provider experience preferred. City Dallas State TX
