Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Working Days: Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Duration: 11 Weeks – Potential Extension

Local Pay Rate: $60–$70/hour
Travel Pay: $2,200–$2,600/week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CT Scan Technologist to perform routine and complex computed tomography examinations in a hospital-based imaging environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CT imaging skills, experience with contrast administration and IV procedures, and proficiency with PACS and electronic medical record systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex CT examinations according to established protocols.
• Review patient history, clinical information, orders, and CT protocols to determine exam appropriateness.
• Communicate with radiologists and referring providers to clarify orders and obtain additional clinical information.
• Screen patients for contrast administration and review required contrast questionnaires.
• Administer contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Perform venipuncture, IV insertion, IV patency checks, and IV maintenance according to established guidelines.
• Prepare, position, and safely secure patients for CT examinations, using shielding and immobilization devices when appropriate.
• Determine appropriate contrast type and dosage based on examination requirements and patient needs.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and address questions or concerns.
• Evaluate CT images using PACS to verify patient identification, positioning, image quality, and diagnostic value.
• Perform CT image post-processing and reconstruction, including sectional and 3D imaging.
• Document required patient and examination information in applicable EMR and PACS systems.
• Obtain outside imaging studies and coordinate scheduling to ensure images and reports are available for radiologist comparison.
• Provide examination copies to patients, physicians, and authorized individuals as appropriate.
• Verify insurance authorization and coordinate exam modification or re-verification requirements when necessary.
• Monitor patient condition throughout examinations and maintain patient safety.
• Follow CT protocols, department policies, infection-control procedures, and radiation-safety standards.
• Work scheduled weekend shifts, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments as required.
• Maintain continuing education and required professional competencies.
• Provide age-, culture-, language-, and ability-appropriate patient care and communication.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for extended periods.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program .
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of CT experience ; 2 years preferred.
• Current ARRT R.T.(R) certification.
• Current ARRT-CT / R.T.(CT) certification as required.
• Valid New Jersey DEP Diagnostic Radiography License .
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiographic positioning, CT equipment, software, and imaging protocols.
• Experience working with PACS systems.
• Ability to perform IV insertion and venipuncture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of CT experience.
• ARRT R.T.(CT) certification.
• Experience with EPIC EMR and HIS/RIS systems.
• Experience with CT post-processing and 3D image reconstruction .
• Previous hospital-based CT experience.
• Experience with Fuji or similar PACS platforms.
