We are seeking a Medical Biller/Coder to join our expanding Billing Team. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working in a growing company.

Job Summary:

The Medical Biller will process and follow up on Medicare and Medicaid billing, review remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement, and adjust as necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Checks to ensure that the records for patients include all information required for reimbursement.
• Verifies correct coding to ensure prompt payment.
• Inputs correct billing information and transmit it electronically to the Medicare/Medicaid carrier.
• Consult with claim clerks in the Medicare/Medicaid office about any disputed claims and follows up on all bills not processed within the usual claim period.
• Reviews remittance advice forms to determine any adjustments made to bills as submitted and consults with the Medicare/Medicaid office.
• Prepares weekly and monthly reports of billing for management.
• Attends training to keep abreast of changes in Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have verbal communication skills and hearing ability to discuss billing with medical staff, patients, and Medicare/Medicaid staff.
• Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in medical billing, keyboarding, computers, business, or office practices.
• Excel and word

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
