Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, as per supervisor’s instructions. Supervise clients during activities to ensure safety. Maintain compliance with all policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as state and federal laws. Report significant changes in the client’s environment, behavior, or circumstances to the supervisor. Monitor the client’s environment for safety hazards and take appropriate actions. Qualifications Must have a cheerful demeanor and a helpful attitude, even in stressful situations. Ability to carry out duties effectively, cooperate, and support fellow workers. Personal assistance services as defined in TAC 40 Chapter 97, performed by an unlicensed person at least 18 years old with demonstrated competency. Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions. Complete required training. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds continuously. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of the shift; sitting about 25%; standing, stooping, bending, and climbing about 55%; walking about 20%. Recognize differences in sounds, exercise patience, tact, and confidentiality. Work under minimal supervision, recognizing that errors may have serious consequences. Recognize changes in a client’s appearance, attitude, and condition.
