Description Varen, an SAIC company is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. This position in located in Suitland, MD and requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph to be considered. Responsibilities Provides high-performance, highly available, and secure Microsoft SQL Server database services. Oversees implementation, configuration, hardening, availability, resiliency, protection, automation, administration, and monitoring of multiple SQL Server environments. Participates in design, engineering, implementation, and modification of production database environments. Proactively monitors and assesses platforms for efficiency, optimal configuration, and security compliance. Works with IT architecture and engineering teams to research and implement new technologies for database modernization. Oversees implementation, configuration, hardening, availability, resiliency, protection, automation, administration, and monitoring of multiple SQL server DB environments. Act as the Microsoft SQL server SME. Monitor and assess deployed platforms, ensure they are operating efficiently, optimally, and are configured properly, and they are secured within vendor guidance, best practices, and required information assurance and security (INFOSEC) compliance and Government requirements. Explore, research, analyze, assess, implement, and transition new technologies to an operational state to modernize and improve on existing MS SQL solutions Qualifications Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. TS/SCI with Polygraph. Experience with Microsoft SQL Target salary range $160,001 - $200,000.
