Studio Assistant

Brooklyn Optics is a photo and film studio in Brooklyn, hosting everything from music videos, commercial shoots and fashion editorials to independent films. We're looking for a friendly, hands-on person to help keep the studio running and make sure shoots go smoothly. You'll work with artists and production crews, help manage the day-to-day flow of the space, and get to know the ins and outs of a busy working studio. It's a part-time job, but could grow into more for the right person. We also have thousands of vintage props, furniture pieces, and wonderfully weird objects. If you're someone who gets excited about unusual old stuff, you'll have plenty to dig into here.

What you'll do:

• Help run shoots and be a friendly, reliable point of contact for clients, artists, and crews.
• Manage load-ins, load-outs, deliveries, and the freight elevator.
• Help build out our prop catalogue so clients can discover and use more of the collection.
• Jump in wherever needed to keep things moving.

Who we're looking for:

Someone friendly, organized, and comfortable talking to all kinds of people. A creative, curious person who enjoys being hands-on and figuring things out. Someone interested in film, photography, production design or just cool old stuff. Social media skills, an interest in fixing old stuff and a rudimentary understanding of Squarespace - or a willingness to learn - are a huge plus. Hours are flexible, but please note that weekend availability is REQUIRED.
