Senior Database Administrator

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing complex database environments, primarily focusing on SQL Server versions 2019, 2022, and 2025. This role involves designing and implementing REST API integrations, maintaining multi-DBMS systems including Oracle and DB2, and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with business objectives while adhering to security and industry best practices. Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain REST API integrations following best practices.
• Administer and optimize SQL Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 instances, including failover clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
• Manage multi-DBMS environments with hands-on experience in Oracle 19c, DB2/Windows, or DB2/zOS.
• Diagnose and optimize query performance, indexes, and overall server performance.
• Develop and implement backup, recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery strategies.
• Plan and execute SQL Server upgrades between supported versions.
• Support middleware software installation, configuration, tuning, and administration.
• Participate in change management, release management, and patching processes.
• Analyze and resolve data integrity, security, configuration, and recovery issues.
• Provide end-to-end solution design, development, unit testing, and documentation aligned with business and security requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, architects, project managers, and QA teams.
• Perform code reviews, fix defects, and support developers, testers, and end users.
• Produce technical documentation, reports, and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
• Promote industry standards and best practices within product teams.

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 administration.
• Experience with failover clustering and Always On Availability Groups setup and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in multi-DBMS environments, including at least one: Oracle 19c, DB2/Windows, or DB2/zOS.
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and server performance diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and HA/DR strategies and implementation.
• Experience in designing and implementing REST API integrations.
• Ability to analyze and solve data integrity, security, configuration, and recovery issues.
• Experience with middleware software and application monitoring/support.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.

• Experience with SQL Server upgrades between versions (2019 to 2022, 2022 to 2025).
• Knowledge of development and mainframe technologies.
• Experience with middleware gateways and application development.
• Familiarity with change management and release management processes.
