The Meat Clerk is responsible for washing, inspecting, and rotating all meat products, along with ensuring displays are stocked with new merchandise and ensuring expirations are up to date. The Meat Clerk must possess strong teamwork and customer service skills.The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Work professionally as part of the team and provide excellent customer service;Verify prices, hang current sales signs, and removes out-of-date sales signs;Order and inventory required meats, seafood, and poultry;Sell products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions;Ensure neat appearance of department and meat displays;Comply with sanitation and health guidelines.Skills and qualifications:Valid Food Handlers Card;Prior food preparer experience at a grocery store preferred;Must be friendly and people oriented;Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Physical demands and work conditions:WALKING: Continuously, throughout the shift, while moving about the store and obtaining product.STANDING: Continuously, throughout the shift.LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.Important disclaimer notice: The job duties, elements, responsibilities, skills, functions, experience, educational factors, and the requirements and conditions listed in this job description are representative only and not exhaustive of the tasks that an employee may be required to perform.
