About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Emergency Room Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, NIH required. Must-Have: Must have ENPC prior to signing the contract. Must work 2 out of 3 of the holiday bundles. No local candidates within 100 miles will be considered. COVID vaccination is required, with exemptions accepted with proper documentation. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Emergency Room care. The nurse will provide care to pediatric patients in emergency situations. Strong experience is required, particularly in a pediatric emergency or combined adult/pediatric emergency department. The nurse will be expected to perform triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, and starting IVs. Interpretation of 12 Lead EKG and cardiac dysrhythmias is also necessary. During high census periods, admission holds may be boarded in the emergency room for longer than normal. Travelers are expected to occasionally float to the pediatric admission floors according to staffing needs. Ratios are typically 1:4 but may increase during busy periods.
