Job Details:
• Full-time permanent Director of Cardiac Surgery position available to begin as soon as possible
• Seeking a distinguished mid-career or senior adult cardiac surgeon with outstanding technical expertise and a sustained record of clinical excellence
• Lead program development, quality and performance initiatives, faculty recruitment, and strategic growth
• Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing culture within the medical group
• Meaningful academic engagement through an active Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program, including resident education, mentorship, and curriculum development
• Academic appointment at two major medical universities commensurate with experience, scholarly achievements, and national standing
• Candidates must demonstrate a sustained record of excellence in adult cardiac surgery with 5+ years of experience as a cardiac surgeon
• Leadership experience within an academic or high-volume clinical program required
• Cardiac Surgery Fellowship required
• Board Certification required
• Active Michigan State license highly preferred
• Required certifications include BLS, DEA, CSR, and CDS
• Previous management experience preferred
• Commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration, programmatic growth, surgical education, and mentorship expected
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 90-120 days
